Britain's top 100 |
11th out of 100
Score - 849
|
Outstanding bang-per-buck
ratio pushes Britain's home grown super coupe way up the list.
It is held up by niggling doubts over reliability, but the more time
we spend with out long term test car, the more we grow to like &
trust it. |
My current car,
an Impreza, was 1st out of 100 with a score of 927 !!! |

£100 bet. 800
miles without breaking down.
It didn't. |
Much to Goodwin's dismay,
it soon becomes obvious that the new Porsche 911 can't live with the
Cerbera in a straight line.
TVR is much faster
on autoroutes.

...a few years ago...
the engine snapped a jackshaft & we lost water & oil pump
& power steering I had to give PW a lift back to Blackpool in
a Honda Civic. |

Blistering performance,
well sorted high speed handling, great gearchange, immediacy of throttle
response, turns heads faster than an electric screwdriver. |
Incites hostility from
certain types of road users, awful turning circle, yet to prove 100%
reliable, fresh users take time to get used to interior cabin design.
87 miles after delivery
the MIL light came on & it was low loaded away.

The Cerbera, however,
blows the socks off anything slower than a Jaguar XJ220, yet it costs
less than a Toyota Supra. Inconsistent build quality &
lask of safety equipment are the only flies in an extremely potent
ointment. |

The Cerbera came 5th
out of 22 cars with Ferrari's 550 & F355, Lamborghini's Diablo
and Porsche's 911 just pipping it to the post. In Clarkson's 10 best
he ranked it 9th, just beating the Fiesta ! |
