Two men are on their way to the bank when a Transit van mounts the pavement and blocks their path. Two masked men with clubs jump out the back and attack them. The man with the briefcase is taken away in the van and the chain securing it to his hand is cut. He is than dumped in a muddy field.

Two names are put in the frame by a snout. Kevin Lee and Andy Deacon. They are both taken to the station for questioning. Whilst in the interview room Andy Deacon collapses on the floor in agony.

Nobody believes that Jack didn’t beat Andy Deacon. A report from the hospital were systematic with a severe beating. He loses a kidney.

Andy’s older brother, Phil, decides that Regan must pay for what has happened and tells Stan to bring in a hit man from Scotland called Eddie Swan.

According to another snout, the night before the blag, Andy Deacon was seen with a girl. Jack gets her details from Anne Knightly, a probation officer girlfriend. They pick her up and take her in for questioning. Anne tells Jack that the girl, Angela, has a pimp called Rea. When they confront Angela she tells them that Andy Deacon and Rea had words that night.

They pay Linbert Rea a visit but he does a runner and they chase him to a deserted house before capturing him. He tells them that he followed Andy to Angela’s flat and the next morning he and some friends beat Andy up.

Later at the hospital Andy comes round and tells his brother what had happened and that Regan never touched him. An expensive mistake on behalf of Phil Deacon as he paid Eddie Swan £2000 down.
