Whilst Oakton Light Engineering are having the wages snatched in front of their building one of the security guards is shot. In their attempt to escape the van runs off the road and they take another vehicle at gunpoint. They are followed to some waste ground by the Sweeney but, after an exchange of gunfire, they escape.

George goes to visit Albert Milligan., his snout, in a bookies. He tells him that they gang are hold up in a junk shop in Lambert Road and that the drivers name is Tober.

In the junk shop Tober is waiting for their boss, the German. Jack is disguised as a workman checking their lookouts across the road. The German arrives and after paying each member of the gang £10,000 he tells them they must do another job but Tober says they've done too many jobs too quickly

.Jack knows that the blags are to raise cash for a political terrorist group so he tells George to go to see a Major Carver at Whitehall to see if they have any interest in any of the gang but he's told nothing.

Outside the junk shop Jack and George are with their relief driver, Ingram. George pays the shop a visit via the rear and Ingram, against orders, confronts Tober pretending to be asking directions. Tober recognises him and knowing the Sweeney are on his tail he rushes into the shop, knife in hand, but George manages to escape before he gets into the back of the shop. Tober decides it's time to pack his bags if the Sweeney are this close but the German has other ideas. He tells him that if he doesn't do the job some harm will come to his daughter in Manchester.

George returns to the bookies to see Albert who after threatened with arrest tells him that something is going down the next day and he thinks it's a power station.

The scene cuts to the power station where Jack is joined by Major Carver who tells him that the government does indeed have an interest in the German and that he should be allowed to carry on with the blag unhindered. Jack replies that he will ignore his request and carry on.

Tober is busy stealing a Jag for use in the blag whilst the rest of the gang are getting tooled up at the junk shop.

The German tells Jake that today's blag is a rouse to flush out an informant in the organisation but Jake is actually working undercover for Major Carver.

Carver visits Haskins to tell him to order Jack to call off the operation and after he joins Jack at the station he tells the rest of the squad not to proceed any further.

The wage van arrives and departs unhindered but Jack tells the squad to get them. After a shootout and a car chase the four men are captured and arrested.

In the interview room Tober says that if he can ring some friends in Manchester to tell them to look after his daughter he will give them any information they want.

In Haskins office, Jack explains why he gave the order to arrest the men after he was expressly told him not to. The phone rings and George tells him that he's been beaten up by Jake and that he's scarpered. Carver is pleased as his man can continue in his role undercover.
