Colin is in Geisler's Gallery purporting to want to buy a small picture who's twin was sold earlier in the week to Colin's accomplice, Ray. Geisler rings Ray at what he thinks is the Dorchester but is in fact a phone box. He offers him £450 and Colin gives Geisler a rubber cheque. Jack is collecting the takings from Tesco as they've heard there will be an attempt to snatch them but on this occasion nothing happens. Colin and Ray wait for Geisler to leave the galley to deliver a painting and then enter the shop to talk to their accomplice, Nancy King, Geisler's assistant. She tells them that Geisler will take a Goya painting on the bus to Sotheby's. It's worth £250,000. At the factory Jack is sure someone is stealing his whisky from the drawer and using his phone so he marks the bottle. Haskins enters and tells them that Colin and Ray are back in town even though there's a 15 year stretch hanging over them. Jack is back at Tesco and when he gets the thumbs up from George he knows he's about to be confronted. As they starts the car two men pop up from the rear seat both armed with sawn-off shotguns and order him out of the car. This is the signal for the squad to intervene and the rest of the squad jump them. After a struggle the villains are apprehended. Colin meets his fence, Goldman, on a boat and tells him he wants £200,000 in uncut stones to be handed over in Amsterdam. Jack visits a barmaid in an Australian pub who tells him that a friend of hers saw Colin in the library cluing himself up on paintings. Jack, now more annoyed his booze is disappearing, decides to dust the phone with Fusching powder used to catch thieves by dusting an item and if it's touched it dyes the skin blue. Colin and Ray, dressed as a bus driver and conductor steal the bus they will use to collect Geisler. The bus arrives Geisler boards it. He is ushered upstairs where Ray knocks him out with a sock full of silver. Haskins receives a call about the missing painting but uses Jack's phone whilst Colin and Ray hand over the painting to Goldman. Jack visits the gallery and when he sees Nancy's bags packed and finds a plane ticket to Amsterdam he fooled her by telling her that Geisler is dead and she is an accessory to murder so she tells him everything. Jack & George go to the marina but are told that they left earlier that morning. The boatman adds that the boat was low on fuel & would only make Tower Pier. They then speed off to Tower Bridge hoping to meet up with them at the pier. Colin and Ray are spotted on the pier and are chased by the squad onto some waste ground where a gun battle ensues. Jack shoots Ray in the leg but Colin carries on but trying to throw a grenade he is shot in the arm. Back at the factory Haskins is livid as the Fusching powder has turned the side of his face blue. Jack and George, however, find it somewhat amusing. |
