It's Friday night and Douglas Owen can see from his window that there is a car full of heavies waiting for him so he rings his friend Roland Holder. After a scuffle the two heavies leave.

Jack is asked to attend a boxing match as a PR job because Haskins cannot attend. This he doesn't want to do and although George, the boxing fan. tries to take his place Jack is made to go as it needs to be a senior officer.

Whilst there he meets an old villain called Raymond Meadows who for 6 years has been straight. During the bout Jack leaves the ringside to ring his ex-wife to arrange meeting his daughter on Sunday. Meadows joins Jack in the bar and asks him to join him in a drink beck at his place as he has some information which Jack may find very interesting.

Once there he tells him that 6 years ago he did his last raid which netted £500,000 in gold bullion and although he was questioned he had an alibi and was released. Meadows tells Jack that if he ever needs a favour he needn't hesitate.

At this point Meadows daughter, Deborah, arrives home from a night out with her boyfriend, Owen.

As Jack arrives home Meadows rings him to say that we was shouting his mouth off and he shouldn't take any notice of what he said es he was worse for the drink.

On his way to work the next morning Meadows tells his chauffeur, Thomas, to buy a present. Meanwhile, Jack is trying to get the case reopened but with little success.

It's now Sunday and Jack is in the park with Susie, his daughter. Whilst buying an ice cream he sees Thomas giving Susie a parcel. It turns out to be an enormous doll, a present from Meadows.

The next day Meadows is looking at a set of plans on one of his building sites when Jack arrives with a doll similar to the one he bought Susie. He says that he and his family cannot accept gifts from villains and thrusts it into Meadows hand.

Not convinced with a report from C11 that Meadows is clean, Jack and George stake out Meadows house in an unmarked van taking photographs of anyone interesting. When they spot Owen arriving to pick up Debbie they take a photo and on showing it to Haskins he gives Jack permission to follow it up.

Jack and George follow Owen and Debbie to a shop to which Dabble has the keys. They can't understand the interest that Owen has in Debbie until Jack notices that the next door shop is Blok and Kaufmann diamond merchants.

Whilst Debbie is asleep, Owen takes a plaster impression of the keys so he can have a set made up later.

When Jack finds out that Owen has bought some plane tickets for early Sunday morning he now knows that the blag is set for Saturday night.

The villains arrive at the shop masquerading as painters and decorators eagerly watched by the squad. Once upstairs they use an electric pick to break through the wall. They then use a thermal lance to burn through the safe door. Once opened it contains hundreds of small packets of diamonds.

The squad then moves in. Owen knocks out Jack and disappears. Owen makes his way to Meadows house where he viciously attacks him. He then gives himself up as Jack and George arrive.
