Colin Kibber and Titus Oates are in a prison cell together and during a search warders find a piece of paper under his pillow mentioning bank accounts and £2 Million. Kibber is released and a surveillance is placed on him due to the paper being found and that the rumour was that he was going to come into a large amount of money shortly after being released. He returns home and the Sweeney use a room in a block of fiats opposite. From the information on the paper found under the pillow and another in his overalls George deduces that something is going down on the coming Friday. Jack goes to visit Oates in his hotel room but be gives Jack the slip and makes it look like he had been abducted when in fact he was in cahoots with Kibber. A car is later dredged up from a flooded quarry and it turns out to be Oates' but there's no sign of a body and Jack now realises that it is a decoy. Kibber and Oates meet up with Finch who gives them a false passport with Kibber's photo but Oates signature. Kibber needs a diversion to allow him to visit Reynes to give him some assurance so he has some naughty villain sent sound to the flat where the squad are marching him and give them a good hiding. The lookout car speeds off to give them assistance leaving Kibber free. George goes to see Mrs Bradshaw but there's no answer. He asks a neighbour if he can use the phone and she answers but sounds frightened. The BMW in the drive is stolen and her husband works in a bank. Jack goes to see Toby Bradshaw at the bank but he's found in a state of shock. Toby tells him that he had to send a telex to a bank in America and order them to give Kibber, using the passport signed by Oates, the sum of $2 million. If he didn't co-operate his daughter would be harmed. They ring the other bank but are told that the transaction carried out earlier that morning. Back at the Bradshaw's DCS Boothroyd puts a call through to Mrs. Bradshaw to ask her to let him speak to the people holding her hostage but she tells them they left hours ago. Jack now realises they've been well and truly stitched up and Kibber and Oates are now somewhat richer. |
